Kevin & Gillian met freshman year at the University of Tulsa by chance, when Gillian brought cookies for a movie night with Kevin's roommate. They immediately clicked, and spent the next year getting to know each other as friends with late-night gaming sessions, long walks around campus, and making each other laugh.
Even though there was an instant spark, they were far apart in St. Louis and New Orleans, so they danced around the idea of being together. A year later, the stars finally aligned when Kevin reached out to Gillian over the summer and offered to show her around St. Louis. Surprisingly, she took him up on it! On a bright moonlight night sitting on top of a giant turtle sculpture, they confessed their feelings and have been together ever since.
Two days before Christmas, Kevin brought Gillian to take a "winter photoshoot with his new camera" at the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis. Even though it had snowed the day before, the skies cleared and delivered a beautiful 65º afternoon. While Gillian was preparing to take a photo, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Gillian was so excited to take the picture, she forgot to put the camera in focus, leaving the crystal-clear moment between the two of them.
During the time Kevin & Gillian have been together, they’ve shared a rollercoaster of life events — from surviving quarantine in Oklahoma to moving to New Orleans, evacuating Hurricane Ida, getting new jobs, braving PA school in Mississippi, and eventually moving to Raleigh, North Carolina.
They can't wait to celebrate their love story at the ceremony with all of their friends and family!
